Fire Safety Audits and Risk Assessments

Fire Safety Audits and Risk Assessments are carried out on behalf of landlords and occupiers to comply with employers obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Regulations; the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations and the Fire Precautions Act 1971.

Fitzpatrick Property Consultants report would identify any missing, inadequate or ineffective documentation or notices as part of the audit. This compares with the assessment, which would highlight hazards; evaluate risks and identify ways to mitigate the associated risks to staff, visitors, contractors and the public.

Fire Safety law is changing. In Scotland, this will be governed by the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, which comes into force on 01 October 2006 and places new responsibilities on those who occupy or have control over non-domestic premises, with the objective of improving public safety.
